New online form for river users to report illness

Friends of the River Wye have created an online form where you can log an illness that you believe occurred as a result of spending time in the river.

If you've experienced symptoms such as stomach upset, skin rashes, ear or eye infections, or any other illness you believe may be linked to contact with the river, we encourage you to complete the form. Every report matters.

Collecting this information is vital. Up to now we’ve only had anecdotal reports of illness that appear and disappear on social media. Reliable data helps us identify patterns, understand potential public health risks, and provide evidence that can support better monitoring, improved water quality, and stronger action to protect both people and the river.

To find out more or submit a report, visit our the bathing waters page of our website. By sharing your experience, you'll be contributing to a body of evidence that can help safeguard the health of everyone who enjoys the River Wye.
